Compared to the widely available TH2 systems, TH3-certified breathing protection systems filter 10 times more dirt out of the air, or in other words: 99.8% of the harmful particles are filtered out of the air.
The e3000X PAPR system is now ATEX Zone 2 and 22 certified.
What does ATEX actually mean?
ATEX stands for "ATmosphere EXplosible" and refers to the safety of equipment and systems such as the e3000X PAPR system. ATEX-certified equipment and systems must be used when explosive atmospheres can occur.
What are explosive atmospheres?
An explosive atmosphere is one in which materials such as gases, vapours or dusts reach a concentration which, together with air or oxygen, can trigger an explosion.
Natural processes, industrial activities or human error can all cause explosive atmospheres. Explosive atmospheres mostly occur indoors, but are also found outdoors, for example in mines.
Examples of explosive materials are:
- Flammable gases such as methane, propane and butane
- Flammable vapours such as petrol, diesel and alcohol
- Combustible dusts such as wood, metal and plastic dusts
How do you know that you need ATEX-certified equipment?
There is always reason enough for a PAPR system with ATEX Zone 2 and 22 certification.
But if your safety officer or any national or industry legal regulations require ATEX-certified equipment, you must check whether a unit for Zones 2 and 22 is sufficient.
